John Chalk's recent paintings of St. Croix mark a return to an earlier medium after years of success as a sculptor. A self-taught artist, he began as a combat artist for the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He has also been a cartoonist, illustrator, commercial art studio owner and international advertising executive. He works in his 19th century barn studio in Chester County, PA, and is a regular visitor to St. Croix
