YOUR GUIDE TO THE ART AND SOUL OF THE CARIBBEAN

Cynthia Hatfield

January 2000
Cynthia Hatfield - of St.Croix, combines fine art with commercial art and teaching. From Maryland, she attended the CorcoranSchool of Art in Washington, D.C. and received a BA in fine art from the University of Maryland. She exhibited at the Women's Art Center in D.C. and worked as a muralist in the area. Since she and her husband sailed away to the Caribbean, she has painted and shown on several islands. Of her fine art she says,: "My hopes are that it's worth sharing, that I am able to touch something wordless and worthwhile inside me and express it in color and line. I hope that the expression is, in turn, received by others who are touched within those same places."
