Maria Henle grew up on St. Croix. Her first creative success was in color etching at the Printmaking Workshop in New York. In 1992 she returned to St. Croix to paint. A unique style of layering multiple images creates paintings that are at once realistic depiction of landscape and abstract in their formal fragmentation. Maria's studio/gallery is on Company Street, Christiansted. She is also represented by Galeria Palomas in San Juan and Savannah Gallery in Anguilla.
