YOUR GUIDE TO THE ART AND SOUL OF THE CARIBBEAN

Priscilla Looby

Featured Artist in the 2000 Caribbean Museum Calendar

January
February March April May June July August September October November December
Priscilla Looby - a native of Antigua, has always drawn. In church she sketched the minister or the person in front of her. Outside she sketched the hills and harbors of her island home. She wanted to be an artist, ut no one paid attention to her dream until a Peace Corps volunteer, Lou Cottage, took her under his wing and taught her the basics of painting with acrylic. Looby paints Antigua as it used to be, preserving and sharing her memories with her viewers. She now paints full-time, selling to collectors from around the world who pass through Antigua.
