Doreen E. Walsh - Walsh brings innovativew ideas to batik, the ancient Indonesian technique of applying melted was to fabric before dyeing. She often works in a series of themes or colors, ranging from miniature abstracts to large-scale triptychs. From Oregon, Walsh moved to St.Thomas in 1989. Her credits include several awards and shows in the Virgin Islands and on the mainland. Walsh's work is described as "fluid lines and bold shapes that bring a depth and movement to whimsical scenes, where the palms meet the pines."
